Foreshadowing: clues and hints about what's to come later in the story Flashback: when the author writes bout a time that happened BEFORE the story started Metaphor: comparison not using like or as Personification: giving human characteristics to an inanimate object Editorial: newspaper or magazine article written by the editor that expresses an opinion on a topic Essay: short piece of writing on a particular subject (what you write in school!) Interview: exchange of questions between author and subject Memoir: a historical account or biography written from personal knowledge or special sources. 1st person, 3rd limited, and 3rd omniscient point of view Irony: when something happens opposite of what was expected On your Coloring Literary Term Review, write the answers to the following context clue sentences!
