25% of your grade: ORGANIZATION: attention getter, introduction, effective conclusion 25% of your grade: CONTENT: additional information (other than the bullet points on the PP), relevant, interesting, all specific requirements are included 25% of your grade: PRESENTATION: posture, time, effective use of visual aid 25% of your grade: VOCAL DELIVERY: rate, pauses, not using filler words (uhm, so, okay, like), quality inflection and enthusiasm, quality volume = that all combines for a 100 point SUMMATIVE grade Powerpoint = 100 point FORMATIVE grade For the next week, we will be in the Career Center researching a career of interest and then creating a PowerPoint worth 100 formative points.
Then, we will spend a few days learning the basics of presenting a speech, (Volume, posture, rate, inflection, eye contact) before giving a 3 minute speech worth 100 summative points. Here is a point break down. Example PowerPoint. Essays are due Tuesday, November 5th at the end of class. No exceptions.
