This version also has the words on the video, so you can follow along without needing the textbook! Click here to listen to Act 1, and the subsequent acts will appear on the recommend list to the right. As you discovered while discussing the Anticipation Guide, Romeo & Juliet is filled with themes and questions that are still relevant today: teenage love, parental control, fighting, culture clash, rash decisions, etc. These themes are easier to comprehend with some background information about Shakespeare, the Elizabethan Era, and the Globe Theatre.
